Qatar Charity (QC), in co-operation with the Qatar Society for Rehabilitation of Special Needs (QSRSN) and Baraem TV channel, has remotely organised an open day for children with special needs in compliance with the precautionary measures related to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Some 20 children with special needs along with their parents took part in the open day, which included many entertainment, creative and competitive activities as well as skills development workshops, in addition to some technical workshops on Haj under the supervision of their parents at their homes.

On this occasion, Qatar Charity presented educational gifts to children to improve their capabilities and benefit from them collectively with their families, aimed at strengthening family ties among them.

Besides, Baraem TV provided gifts that included sports clothes, notebooks, mugs bearing the channel's logo and other items.

Jassim al-Emadi, director of the Local Development Department at QC, said the activities of the open day organised by Qatar Charity fall within its priorities given to the persons with special needs, as a societal duty and a development pillar.

He also pointed out that QC, through these activities, aims to give an opportunity to the children to learn about the values associated with Haj in an enjoyable environment and to draw the attention of society to people with special needs in order to garner support for the projects and initiatives that benefit them.

Ilyazi al-Kuwari, deputy director of QSRSN’s socio-cultural centre, said the society's participation in the open day along with Qatar Charity contributed to supporting the rehabilitation of people with special needs and exhibiting the children’s creative skills.

The activities of the open day for children with special needs, which were prepared by QC and presented by Baraem announcers Jehan Arsanios and Iman Bakhash, received the admiration of the participants and their families.
