Hamad Nasser al-Qadi continued his winning run with nine-year-old mare Gibria-B as the pair stormed to Medium Tour victory during the 11th and penultimate round of the Longines Hathab Qatar Equestrian Tour.
At the Qatar Equestrian Federation’s Indoor Arena, al-Qadi and Gibria-B emerged the fastest combination with a sizzling round. The pair, which had last week won the Open Class, clocked 30.66 seconds in the jump-off as al-Qadi pocketed QR5,000 in prize money.
Mohamed Saeed Haidan came second with Miss Chili in 30.74 secs, while Mohamed Saeed Haidan jumped into the overall title lead after finishing third with 13-year-old mare Verona in 31.34 secs.
Al-Qadi and Haidan’s top-two finish along with Mohamed Abdulla Juma (Davidoff Du Bois), also ensured Lusail took home the team title. Team Al Kass finished second, while Team ExxonMobil was third.
Meanwhile, Khalifa Abdulla al-Khaldi took the Small Tour overall lead after he led his veteran mare Dusty to a comfortable victory Friday. The duo completed the round in 50.77 secs ahead. Mohamed al-Ghazali was second astride Dino BB Z, while Hussain Saeed Haidan came third with Belucci Van ‘T Vleminkhof.
on Saturday, the competitions will be held for Open Class (115-125cm) and Big Tour (130-145cm) at 4pm and 6.45pm respectively. It’s all to play for in the premier class – Big Tour, where Faleh Suwead al-Ajami is holding a narrow two-point advantage over Salman Mohammed al-Emadi.
