Former Al Sadd midfielder and current head coach Xavi Hernandez’s assist against Persepolis in 2018’s AFC Champions League is among the top five, according to the-AFC.com. The Continental competition has been graced by numerous creative maestros and none more than arguably one of the greatest midfielders of all time Xavi, who had an illustrious career with Barcelona before joining Qatari giants Sadd.
Xavi made his AFC Champions League debut in 2018, lighting up games with his vision, creativity and even the odd goal to boot.
The Spaniard’s supreme awareness was key to Baghdad Bounedjah goal, a glance over his shoulder coming just before he swivels and dumbfounds the two Persepolis centrebacks with the smartest of balls to enable the Algerian to double Al Sadd’s advantage at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium. Sadd went on to win the match 3-1.
