Bangladesh Forum Qatar (BFQ) hosted a reception to bid farewell to ambassador Ashud Ahmed at Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel. Due to the precautions against Covid-19, attendance was restricted to senior officials of the Bangladesh embassy and limited number of BFQ Members. During the reception, mementoes were presented by BFQ to the ambassador and his wife.

The reception was conducted by engineer Tasmia Priyanka. BFQ president Rashed Noman, past president Iftekhar Ahmed, and several other senior members spoke highly of the enormous support and contribution of ambassador Ahmed in the formation of BFQ.

The speakers recalled that the ambassador actively supported and attended all BFQ events, especially the last major event called 'Made in Bangladesh' which saw participation from many dignitaries from Qatar and Bangladesh.

Ambassador Ahmed spoke highly of the activities being carried out by BFQ and encouraged the forum members to continue working to enhance the image of Bangladeshi community in Qatar and build a closer relationship between Bangladesh and Qatar in social, cultural and commercial fields. Ambassador Ahmed is expected to leave Doha at the end of August to take up a new assignment as Bangladesh ambassador to Greece, concurrently with two other European countries.
