Strong winds, dusty conditions and poor visibility are expected in the country from Tuesday, according to the weather forecast.

In a report on Sunday, the Qatar Met department said northwesterly fresh to strong winds are expected to affect most areas of the country from August 4 to 7 (Friday), with the speed ranging from 12-22 knots during the daytime and gusting to 30 knots at times in some places.

This will result in blowing dust and poor visibility of below 2km, especially in open areas with decreasing wind speed at night, the report states.

In addition, the wave height is expected to range from 3-6ft during this period, exceeding 9ft at times in some areas.

The maximum temperature is expected to range between 37C and 48C, while the minimum will be between 27C and 33C across the country.

The Met department has urged people to be cautious, avoid marine activities and follow latest updates through its official social media accounts.
