Leading food and delivery app talabat has joined hands again with Qatar Charity (QC) for a gift-giving drive this Eid al-Adha, it has been announced.
Customers can now donate Udhiyah to the less fortunate residents of Qatar through the talabat app, the company has said in a statement.
Talabat and Qatar Charity have worked together on various projects throughout the year, giving more emphasis on Eid activities. The two entities have signed an agreement to make the platform a channel for sending donations via QC to a variety of causes.
Currently, customers can choose to share a meal for one person, a couple or a family in need during Eid. Additionally, talabat has added the special Udhiyah, a term for Eid gifts, which includes a 'sheep of sacrifice' for sharing priced at QR520, the statement notes.
Francisco De Sousa, managing director of talabat Qatar, praised the support of locals and residents for talabat and Qatar Charity’s humanitarian initiatives.
"Eid al-Adha falls at the right time to share our blessings, as we are facing the nation’s first stages of recovery from the pandemic. We encourage those who can take part in this selfless act as, on this special occasion, food unites everyone," he said. "We are grateful to Qatar Charity for initiating such major projects for the sake of those in need."
"Talabat wishes those who are celebrating a prosperous and healthy Eid al-Adha Mubarak," the statement adds.
To donate, one can check out the Qatar Charity listing on the talabat app, which can be downloaded via the App Store or Google Play.
