The Shura Council Wednesday participated in an international parliamentary conference via video conference on accelerating the sustainable development goals from the Covid-19 epidemic, on the sidelines of the UN High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF).
Discussions during the forum, in which experts and parliamentary figures from different countries of the world participated, focused on ways to mobilise much-needed resources in healthcare, social protection and environmental preservation, and the possibility of achieving better economic compatibility between the green economy and environmental sustainability, and redistribution of income and wealth to make economies more sustainable and improving well-being for all, by reforming the trade and investment system in the global economy.
The Shura Council was represented in this forum by HE Mohamed bin Abdulla al-Abd al-Ghani, HE Abdulaziz bin Mohamed al-Attiyah, and HE Mohamed bin Ali al-Henzab, members of the council.
