The Shura Council yesterday participated in a meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) on “Post-Covid Economic Recovery and support to SMEs, Fintech, Venture Capital and Start-Ups”, via video conferencing technology. 
The aim of the meeting was to review parliamentarians from the Euro-Mediterranean region for government policies and the most effective legislative tools in order to address the multiple economic challenges in the recovery phase at the national and regional levels, and to support small and medium-sized companies, investors and workers, in terms of conditions for easy access to credit and financial and monetary efficiency within a facilitated regional approach. During the meeting, high-ranking officials from national governments and international institutions exchanged views and proposals on tackling the difficulties faced by governments and the productive sectors in the Euro-Mediterranean and Gulf’s regions, and providing indicators on how to ensure a strong economic recovery in the current phase of the Corona virus epidemic. The Shura Council was represented at the meeting by its member Mohamed bin Ali al-Maadid.
