Trained by Ralph Beckett for Qatar Racing, Afraid Of Nothing gave an impressive performance to win the British EBF Fillies’ handicap on the all-weather track at Chelmsford, UK, on Saturday evening.
A dual winner at two, the bay filly had finished second on her seasonal bow three weeks ago and made short work of her opposition the seven-furlong run for three-year-olds and older horses rated 0-90.
The three-year-old filly broke smartly and was straight up on the lead where she set a good pace. She was relaxed out in front on her own and never looked in danger that jockey Rob Hornby let her ease down to cross the line by a length and three quarters.
Amy Murphy-trained Breath Of Joy was the runner-up under David Probert, while Richard Spencer-trained Odyssey Girl was a further short-head behind in third under Angus Villiers.
Off an official rating of 90 coming into this race, Afraid Of Nothing carried a top weight.
Afraid Of Nothing is by Charm Spirit, a Qatar Racing stallion at Tweenhills. She was the first foal out of the Galileo mare Lady Dragon, who was a three-time winner and Stakes placed in France for Qatar Racing.
