A conference on the development of Public-Private Partnership (PPP) will start on Tuesday (July 7), aiming to raise awareness among the business sector on Law No. 12 of 2020 regulating the partnership between the two sectors.
The law which was issued by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani last May and will enter into force on July 11, is the first law regulating the partnership between the two sectors in Qatar.
The conference is expected to see a participation of about 5,000 attendees.
Held under the auspices of HE the Minister of Commerce and Industry Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, the conference includes three working sessions. The first session deals with opportunities and challenges expected after the implementation of the PPP Law, the second sessions reviews partnership laws and some leading international experiences, while the third session discusses many legal studies related to partnership between both sectors.
About 15 speakers from prestigious local and international organisations will participate in the conference including speakers from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI), Ministry of Justice, Qatar Chamber (QC), Qatar Free Zones, Qatar Development Bank (QDB), Qatar Finance Center, Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), as well as speakers from Qatar University College of Law, and international speakers from Brazil and the United Kingdom.
The conference is being held through Microsoft Teams application and will be published on the conference website www.pppqatar.com, as well as on social media channels Facebook and YouTube.
