The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC) announced it has from Wednesday allowed all maritime vessels to sail, as part of Phase 2 of the gradual lifting of Covid-19 restrictions.
This is, however, subject to the condition that such maritime vessels have only half of the permitted number of people, not exceeding 10 persons, on board, the MoTC said in a post on social media.
The vessels covered by the announcement include dhows, yachts and floating vessels, an infographic issued by the ministry states.

The MoI advisory

According to a recent decision of the Supreme Committee for Crisis Management, families are allowed to rent boats and yachts in groups not exceeding 10 people in Phase 2 of the gradual lifting of Covid-19 restrictions.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) has reminded people of the importance of adhering to safety guidelines for marine activities in the second phase of the gradual lifting of restrictions, which began Wednesday.
The MoI stressed that within the framework of implementing different stages of the resumption of marine activities, it is allowed to lease some marine vessels. A maximum of 10 people are allowed per vessel for ships and yachts, while water scooters and marine sports activities are also allowed, according to an infographic issued by the ministry on social media.
"Please adhere to the preventive and precautionary measures," the MoI said. "Thank you for your co-operation," it added.
