Abdullah Abdulghani & Bros Co (AAB) held a virtual launch of the new Toyota C-HR in Qatar, a new member to the Toyota Hybrid Vehicle (HEV) family. The event was in line with the efforts of the Qatar government to limit the spread of Covid-19 and as part of the commitment from AAB to protect and ensure the health and safety of its customers.
In a statement, AAB acting CEO R K Murugan said that ‘the daringly innovative crossover combines adventurous design with a responsive drive and class-leading eco-friendly technology.’ Senior marketing manager Firas Mufti noted that the introduction of C-HR HEV further demonstrates Toyota Motor Corporation’s commitment to introduce more class-leading eco-friendly technology models, in addition to the existing three HEV models.
Toyota National Sales senior manager Awwad Mohamed said: “AAB offers eight years/160,000km warranty for Hybrid battery in Qatar thereby giving peace of mind to the HEV vehicle owners in addition to the fabulous performance in acceleration and quietness.”
Designed to stand out both within the Toyota line-up and the crossover segment, the all-new C-HR – or Coupe High-Rider – embodies company President Akio Toyoda’s commitment to promoting stylistic freedom and engineering creativity.
The pioneering crossover remains remarkably true to the spirit of the concept cars that drew global attention in Paris in 2014 and Frankfurt in 2015. The all-new C-HR offers the lowest fuel consumption value in its category at 23.9 km/l.
Inspired by what he learned from meeting with potential customers, C-HR chief engineer Hiroyuki Koba focused persistently on their requirements throughout the development process, setting the highest demands for design and quality.
“The Toyota C-HR’s unique character demonstrates the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform’s flexibility in three key areas: design, powertrain, and dynamics. This adaptability provided us with the freedom to deliver a fresh take on the increasingly commoditised crossover segment,” Koba said.
Kei Fujita, chief representative of Middle East and Central Asia Representative Office, Toyota Motor Corporation, described the all-new Toyota C-HR as ‘a completely new breed of car that will change people’s perceptions of what a crossover should be like to drive and to look at.’
The all-new C-HR is built on the TNGA platform, which guarantees a more rewarding driving experience. A low centre of gravity and double-wishbone rear suspension contribute to outstanding stability and handling with exceptional ride comfort. The vehicle comes with a 1.8-liter VVT-i full-hybrid powertrain and automatic E-CVT transmission.
The sleek control panel features a 4.2-inch colour LCD Multi-Information Display with an onboard multimedia system and full smartphone integration through both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The C-HR has a combined hp of 122. The hybrid-electric powertrain is equipped with a small, light, and powerful lithium-ion battery pack that can efficiently absorb and deliver current, enhancing the electric motive force delivery.
Toyota has more than two decades of technical leadership in electrified vehicles and has amassed over 15mn environment-friendly vehicle sales globally since 1997. Its hybrid-electric batteries are continuously charged by the petrol engine and when decelerating and braking, meaning there is no need to plug in a power cord.
The TNGA-based chassis has been optimised for outstanding impact performance and is complemented by an impressive array of active and passive safety features including Vehicle Stability Control, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, Tyre Pressure Warning System, Hill-start Assist Control and many others.
A choice of 10 exterior hues add to the all-new C-HR’s striking visual appeal, including Super White 2, White Pearl CS, Celestite Gray ME, Gray ME, Metal Stream ME, Black MC, Emotion Red 2, Orange ME, Oxide Bronze ME, and Nebula Blue ME.
Further personalisation is made possible with the addition of two bi-tone variants; where customers can combine Gloss Black and the iconic Metal Stream with all the available colours.
With the launch of the new model, Toyota’s hybrid electric model line-up in Qatar includes Corolla, Camry, RAV4 and the all-new C-HR.
Customers who wants to purchase the new model can visit any of the two showrooms located at Al Abdulghani Tower (C-Ring Road) and City Center (basement) at their convenient time or can speak to their Sales Team directly at 50099188.
Toyota main showroom is open from Sunday to Thursday from 8am-8pm. City Center showroom is open from Sunday to Thursday, 9am to 8pm. AAB also offers excellent after-sales support with a network of 10 service centres located across the country.
