The Public Works Authority, Ashghal, announced closures of two lanes of as many streets for two months from Wednesday (June 24).
One lane of Omar Al Mokhtar Street and Al Bidda Street starting from Al Mussalla Street and for 2.5km towards Lekhwair Intersection is to be closed. So is one lane of Al Markhiya Street starting from Lekhwair Intersection and for 0.5 Km towards Qatar Sports Club.
In coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic, this change will be implemented on Wednesday 24 June 2020 for a period of 2 months to enable completion of infrastructure works and installation of new traffic signal, as part of the first phase of the upgrading works on some streets in West Bay Area project.
During this time, three lanes will remain open for traffic on Omar Al Mokhtar, Al Bidda and Al Markhiya Streets as well as right turns towards intersecting streets.
The Public Works Authority will install road signs advising motorists of the temporary closure. Ashghal requests all road users to abide by the speed limit, and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
