?The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has announced job vacancies for teaching positions in Qatar’s public schools.
The positions in primary, preparatory and secondary schools are open for new graduates of Qatar University (QU) and other universities based in Qatar for the 2020-21 academic year, the ministry has said in an announcement on its website.
This is part of the ministry's plan "to employ qualified graduates of Qatar University and the Tumoh Programme that aims to build a cadre of local teachers with a defined career path", the announcement notes.
The ministry is also planning to hire experienced expatriate teachers to fill the shortages in some specialised areas.
"The expansion in the number of classrooms, a number of newly built schools and teacher retirements and resignations across the public school system necessitate hiring new teachers annually," the statement adds.
In the future, the ministry will continue its expansion plans by adding more than 195 classrooms and increasing the number of public schools to 240 by the 2025-26 academic year.
