The Acting Charge d’Affaires at the embassy of Qatar to El Salvador, Tarik Othman al-Othman, has said that Qatar achieved unprecedented growth in all fields after the unjust blockade.
In an article entitled “The coming days will be better” published by the Salvadoran newspaper “El Diario de Hoy” on the occasion of the passage of three years since the blockade of Qatar, al-Othman said Qatar managed the crisis in a way that represented a new birth for it and moved towards achieving more accomplishments, adding that Qatar currently maintains the highest economic growth rates in the region and occupies a leading position as an active regional and international partner.
Al-Othman emphasised the commitment of Qatar to support El Salvador and stand by it to overcome the difficult conditions resulting from the coronavirus pandemic.
He revealed that 1,600 families benefited from Qatar’s donation of more than 800 cubic meters of drinking water during the water crisis, noting that the Qatari embassy in El Salvador donated more than 8,000 pounds of food, 480 pieces of clothing, more than 1,000 personal hygiene products, 500 bedding, blankets and pillows, and other items that benefited more than 1,000 people during the natural disaster caused by the Amanda and Cristobal tropical storms, and the health crisis caused by the Covid-19 outbreak. - QNA
