The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) has announced the procedures and conditions for entering the limited number of public gardens and parks that will be opened to the public Monday to exercise and practise sports and specific times.
This comes as part of the comprehensive plan to gradually lift the restrictions imposed earlier to curb the spread of Covid-19 in the country.
In Phase 1, eight parks will be open from 4am until 9am and from 4pm until 10pm daily. These are Al Wakra Public Park, Al Khor Park, Al Qutaifiyah Park 66, Al Shamal City Park, Al Sailiya Park (Abu Nakhla), Al Dafna Park, Museum Park and Al Rayyan Park.
In a statement Saturday, the MME urged people wishing to enter such parks to abide by the preventive and precautionary measures put in place.
These include displaying the 'Green' health code on the Ehteraz app on their phones, undergoing body temperature checks at the entrance, following the instructions of security personnel at the parks and co-operating with them, keeping a safe physical distance from others, no sitting inside the parks, which are meant for exercising and practising sports, safely disposing of discarded items at designated spots, and maintaining personal and public hygiene standards within and outside the parks, the statement noted.
The MME stressed that complying with such instructions and conditions is essential for the safety and health of all.
As announced recently, the four-phase lifting of restrictions in the country begins on June 15, followed by the second stage on July 1, the third on August 1 and the fourth and final on September 1.
