Shops selling sweets and different kinds of goodies, as well as hypermarkets and other stores, saw brisk sales yesterday as people prepared to celebrate Eid al-Fitr, albeit differently this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Social distancing and other precautionary measures were followed at the stores and the authorities have also urged people to celebrate the occasion while staying at home in order to curb the spread of Covid-19.
