Vodafone Qatar has concluded its Ramadan charitable giving campaign by donating QR130,000 to Education Above All (EAA).
The donation will go to EAA’s ‘Together’ project – a Qatar-based initiative that aims to enrol children from low-income families into Assalam schools.
This brings Vodafone Qatar’s total donations this Ramadan to QR370,000, which also benefited Qatar Charity and Qatar Red Crescent Society.
The public showed tremendous support for Vodafone’s donation goals throughout the campaign by playing and competing for prizes on the Vodafone Sawa online entertainment platform.
Khames Mohamed al-Naimi, chief human resources officer at Vodafone Qatar, said, “We are delighted to show appreciation for the tremendous programmes of Education Above All that open a world of
education to the youth.
“As our Ramadan giving campaign comes to a close, we sincerely thank everyone who responded to our call and helped us meet our goal of supporting the three charity initiatives. The Sawa platform helped remind us that we are in this together and it’s been incredible to see people making this effort during Ramadan.”
Mohamed Saad al-Kubaisi, director of Procurement and Operations at Education Above All, said, “We welcome this donation from Vodafone Qatar. The support will contribute to our mission to provide access to high quality education to the most marginalised of children, who would otherwise not be able to receive an education.”
Vodafone Qatar used the platform from the start of their campaign to drive participation and ran weekly competitions with cash prizes to incentivise people to be part of its giving. The initiative was organised as part of Vodafone Qatar’s broad-ranging corporate social
responsibility programme.
