Qatargas received the ‘Crystal Award’ for supporting Qatarisation in the area of ‘Training & Development’. 
The award was announced by HE the Minister of State for Energy Affairs, Saad bin Sherida al-Kaabi, also the president and CEO of Qatar Petroleum. 
For the 12th consecutive year, the Energy Sector Annual Qatarisation Awards have recognised companies that have consistently exhibited excellent work in advancing the goals of Qatarisation.
Qatargas CEO, Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa al-Thani stated, “We are very proud to be recognised with this special award. This award is a proof of our commitment to develop a strong workforce aligned to the Qatar National Vision 2030, and our focus on sustainable development through creating a comprehensive learning environment.”
As part of its Qatarisation efforts, Qatargas develops its nationals through effective and efficient development plans for national graduates, national employees on establishment, and nationals in talent pools. 
Special focus is given on monitoring and follow-up on their individual development and providing counselling. In addition, they are supported with best practice learning interventions to close any competence gaps and prepare them for future roles as part of the company’s succession planning.
Qatargas’ approach to development follows the ‘70% on the job experience, 20% coaching, and 10% classroom’ training model. 
During 2019, Qatargas provided various opportunities to their nationals to develop and enhance their competences using Qatargas’ technical and behavioural competencies frameworks.
Qatargas received the Certificate for Support & Liaison with the Education Sector in 2018 during the Qatarisation Review Meeting in 2019. 
Qatargas invests significant time and effort to support and develop its workforce through training and development.  
As a part of its Qatarisation strategy, the company ensures consistent delivery and quality learning that makes an impact on the business. It also provides required tools and practices, as well as an internal network of facilitators, to deliver meaningful results in developing its nationals within the company. 
Both the company’s short and long-term plans strive to support Qatarisation with quality training for nationals in order to develop a high-calibre and capable workforce.
