Abdelrahman Mohamed Jadallah, an expatriate whose wife and three-year-old daughter recently recovered from the novel coronavirus (Covid-19), expressed his appreciation for the comprehensive care his family members received from the moment their cases was reported.

He made the observations while speaking to Qatar Television.

Jadallah said his wife and daughter were quarantined to protect the remaining members of the family and give them due medical care. He was also allowed to accompany his daughter and given adequate protective gear and necessary instructions and advice to deal with the child.

He said from the moment of arrival at the quarantine facility, there was constant communication with the entities concerned enquiring about his needs as well as any particular requirements of the child, including food, toys and means of entertainment.

The girl first got the infection from her mother and they were quarantined at Hazm Mebaireek General Hospital first, where the mother received due care for four days before being shifted to The Cuban Hospital for another 10 days. She was released following her full recovery.

The child stayed for another four days and also recovered completely due to the excellent medical care given to them, Jadallah said.

He said people should take extra care to abide by all the preventive measures to protect themselves and their families, most importantly following personal hygiene rules, cleaning the surrounding environment and house using proper disinfectants and sanitisers, wearing facemasks when going out and maintaining physical distance from others.

He said recovery from the disease is not a difficult thing if dealt with properly. He further advised people to avoid listening to rumours on the issue, get the necessary information from authentic sources for their protection and follow the instructions given by the competent authorities. Meanwhile, he said the issue of Covid-19 should not be a constant topic of discussion within the family, especially in front of children, as this could lead to avoidable anxiety and worries that would negatively impact their well-being.
