Northwesterly fresh to strong winds are expected to affect the country from Monday (May 11) until Thursday noon (May 14), the Qatar Met department has said.

The wind speed will range from 15-25 knots during this period, going up to more than 35 knots at times in some areas, especially during noon.

This, in turn, will cause dust and low visibility of below 3km at times, especially in open areas, the weather office has said in a report.

In addition, the wave height is expected to rise offshore between 4ft and 7ft, reaching 9ft at times during this period.

As for the temperature, the maximum is expected to range from 31-37C and the minimum from 20-26C across the country, he report states.

The Met department has urged everyone to be careful, avoid marine activities and follow latest updates through its official social media accounts.
