Unsettled weather, marked by chances of rain, are expected in the country from Wednesday until the beginning of next week, the Qatar Met department has said.

The maximum temperature is expected to range from 33-39C and the minimum from 26-29C in different areas during this period, according to a report issued on Tuesday by the weather office.

The cloud cover is expected to increase gradually from Wednesday, continuing until the beginning of next week with chances of scattered rain in intermittent periods - ranging mostly between light and moderate in intensity, the report states.

The rain may become thundery in some places at times, it adds.

The winds during this period will be mainly northeasterly to southeasterly, fresh to strong in intensity in some places, with the speed ranging from 15-25 knots and reaching a high of 30 knots.

Also, the wave height is expected rise to more than 10ft offshore during thunderstorms, the report says.

The Met department has urged people to be careful and follow latest updates through its official accounts, as this transitional period is known for fast weather fluctuations.

Meanwhile, today's detailed forecast says thundershowers and strong winds are expected in some places. Similar conditions are also likely offshore along with high seas.

Besides partly cloudy conditions and chances of rain, slight to blowing dust is also expected at times on Wednesday.

The wind speed may go up to 25 knots both inshore and offshore, with the sea level rising to 8ft during thundery rain.

The temperature in Doha is expected to range between 27C and 36C on Wednesday.
