Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) has announced the new hours for operating branches and service centres that will be effective during the holy month of Ramadan.
The following branches will be operating from Sunday-Thursday, 9am-1pm: Salwa Road, Al Rayyan, Al Sadd, Corporate Branch (Grand Hamad Street), Old Airport Road and Sheikh Abdulla Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Culture Centre (Fanar).
In addition, the following QIB service centres will be operating from Sunday-Thursday, 9am-1pm: Fanar, C-Ring Service Centre and the WPS Centre (Barwa Commercial Avenue – Industrial Area).
“During these unprecedented times, a key preventive measure to limit the spread of the Covid-19 is to transact only through remote, digital channels and avoid any physical contact,” QIB said in a statement.
“Therefore, QIB will not be accepting applications for services that are available on QIB’s award-winning mobile application, Internet banking, ATMs or call centre.” The statement added, “QIB is urging all customers to bank from home and prioritise the use of its digital channels, which have over 90 features available 24/7, and are built to serve the majority of customers’ banking needs instantly.”
QIB said corporate clients are also requested to manage their banking services remotely, as their entire daily banking needs is available on QIB’s Corporate Internet Banking.
Through the platform, corporate customers can make local and international transfers, apply for Letter of Credit and Bank Guarantee, check balances, manage liquidity, request statements, pay utility bills, open and manage fixed deposit accounts, manage corporate credit cards, manage cheques, and request card and cheque book replacements to be delivered to their addresses.
The bank has recently launched a new Corporate Deposit Only Card, which allows large corporations, as well as small and medium-sized enterprises, to deposit cash or cheques in their accounts at any time through QIB’s self-service Cash & Cheque Deposit Machines available across the country at 40 different locations.
For corporates, which frequently deposit bulk cheques, QIB is offering them the Remote Deposit Cheque (RDC) solution – a safe, quick and efficient solution to allow corporate customers to deposit bulk cheques remotely, using the RDC scanner and a QIB secured portal to upload and send the cheques to the bank to be processed in one working day. Corporate customers can also track the status of the cheques.
QIB has 180 ATMs strategically placed across the country, 40 of which are Cash & Cheque Deposit Machines, eliminating the need to interact with a teller in the branch. To further limit contact in branches, QIB has Interactive Teller Machines (Live Teller) for customers to talk to a bank teller via real time audio/video to conduct the same banking transactions offered at a regular branch.
The machines are regularly cleaned and hand sanitisers are installed next to each machine for customers to use before and after their transactions.
