The Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs (MADLSA) has penalised two major construction companies in Lusail due to their lack of commitment to the directives issued by the Supreme Committee for Crisis Management to limit the spread of Covid-19.
In a statement on Thursday, the ministry said the two companies were penalised for not adhering to the precautionary measures specifying that the maximum number of workers and employees in buses should not exceed 50% of the number of seats, and provide a safe distance between workers while boarding and getting off the buses.
Accordingly, they were referred to the security authorities to take the necessary action.
This came in the context of the inspection campaigns carried out by labour inspectors at the ministry to ensure that companies adhere to the necessary precautions.
The MADLSA has also allocated the hotline, 40280660, to report violations of workers' housing requirements.
