His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Economic Affairs and Investment (SCEAI), chaired on Monday the council's second meeting in 2020 that was held by video conference.
His Highness the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani, the Deputy Chairman of the Council, attended the meeting along with HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani, Executive Member of the Council and other members of the council.
The council discussed topics on the meeting's agenda and took the appropriate measures regarding them.
The council also reviewed a number of presentations made on a number of topics, including: First: The economic repercussions of the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19) and ways to address and reduce its economic and financial effects, as well as the most important measures taken by the State and future steps in this regard.
Second: Progress achieved in implementing the Second National Development Strategy 2018-2022 within the framework of the Qatar National Vision 2030.
Third: The latest developments in the energy sector and investment affairs, in addition to developments in the implementation of the Qatarisation programme for the energy sector, as well as efforts being made to develop local suppliers, localise technical knowledge and increase capabilities of local competencies.
Fourth: What has been accomplished in terms of the services of the Single Window programme that aimed at unifying procedures for establishing businesses by the citizens and investors through one electronic service window.-QNA
