* 8,590 calls from employees and 1,633 from employers

The hotline set up the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs (MADLSA) for recording grievances has received more than 10,000 calls, including 8,590 calls from employees pertaining to enquiries and other issues, and 1,633 from employers.
This was revealed by HE the Spokesperson for the Supreme Committee for Crisis Management Lolwah bint Rashid bin Mohamed AlKhater at a press conference on Thursday, as reported by the official Qatar News Agency (QNA).
She informed that the number of complaints reached 1,328, of which 742 were dealt with and 586 were under review.
All this is in the interest of both employers and employees, it was observed.
HE AlKhater also reviewed the sterilisation efforts by various authorities, headed by the Ministry of Municipality and Environment. Some 197 areas in different municipalities and 232 housing facilities for migrant workers have been sterilised, she said.
HE AlKhater also praised the efforts of Qatar Charity (QC), Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRSC) and all those working for the two institutions in the current circumstances. Both QC and QRCS have proven that they are responsible organisations and done a tremendous job in such difficult circumstances, she stressed.
The official reviewed some of the efforts made in this regard, including the distribution of 43,000 food baskets, 94,000 hot meals and 41,000 personal hygiene and sterilisation bags, as well as extending support to those in need for an additional three months.
Also, they have produced educational videos in four different languages and distributed 1,000 educational publications in nine languages. She added that there is continuous communication with various embassies, as QC co-operates with 20 embassies in the country.
Further, she noted that QRCS is making great efforts as well, including testing more than 78,000 individuals at its various centers. This is in addition to the presence of 641 medical cadres of QRCS, 105 volunteers working in the field of sterilisation and 15,000 volunteers engaged in various fields.
At the end of the press conference, she stressed that the measures taken by Qatar or any other country in the world concerning the closure of facilities and various activities of life cannot continue indefinitely.
She said there must be a moment when the community starts the process of returning to a normal life and not all facilities in the country can be stopped completely and indefinitely, but there is a certain moment when the normal life will return. However, this depends on the readiness of individuals and society to take responsibility and change their lifestyle, she stressed.
HE AlKhater emphasised that Qatar, with all its ministries and agencies, is helping everyone through awareness campaigns and the procedures and measures that are taken to help individuals change their lifestyle for the better so that life can gradually return to normal, the QNA report added.
