Qatar participated Wednesday, in the extraordinary meeting of the Undersecretaries of the Ministries of Electricity and Water in the GCC member states, which was held via videoconference to discuss issues related to electricity and water in light of the Coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19).
Qatar was represented at the meeting by HE the President of Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (Kahramaa) Eng. Issa bin Hilal Al Kuwari.
HE Al Kuwari said the meeting came at an important time to exchange views on how the electricity and water sectors should deal with the Coronavirus pandemic. He added that the states also discussed exchanging expertise and unifying the response to the crisis.
He said that the pandemic showed that Kahramaa had solid emergency plans in place, saying that the company succeeded in ensuring service remained uninterrupted while taking all the precautionary measures to ensure the safety of its employees.
