The World Health Organisation (WHO) has no blanket recommendation for countries and regions for easing measures to slow the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
WHO spokesman Christian Lindmeier said in a virtual news conference on Tuesday, ‘One of the most important parts is not to let go of the measures too early in order not to have a fall back again.’
He added that WHO does not have comprehensive recommendations for countries and regions regarding mitigating measures aimed at slowing the spread of the epidemic, but urges that these measures not be lifted prematurely.
WHO also announced in a report shared by the Nursing Now global campaign and the International Council of Nurses, that the world needs about six million additional people working in the field of nursing.
The report added that the shortage is especially concentrated in the poorest countries in Africa, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and South America. (QNA)
