Some 151,373 people have benefitted so far from the initiatives undertaken by Qatar Charity (QC) as part of the awareness and prevention campaign against Covid-19, it has been announced.
QC, in co-operation with the authorities concerned in the country, has distributed health and awareness kits, food baskets and other materials to the beneficiaries, including workers, as well as volunteers participating in health awareness initiatives.
The health bags and foodstuffs were distributed in many places, including industrial zones and the quarantine centre in Mukaynis.
Approximately 79,780 ready-to-eat meals were distributed over three periods, in addition to 38,326 food baskets, of which 34,926 were provided in the Industrial Area only.
Also, some 33,267 health and awareness kits were distributed within the industrial zones, external areas, farm compounds, construction sites and labour camps.
Besides, 890 health kits were distributed to the workers of Doha Municipality in the presence of representatives from the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs and volunteers of Qatar Charity, in addition to 6,000 meals at the quarantine centre in Mukaynis and 600 food baskets at a number of embassies and communities.
Some 12,350 health and medical materials, including sterilisers, masks and gloves, were also disturbed among health awareness workers.
The instructions included avoiding contact with persons who have symptoms of respiratory illness like coughing or sneezing, as well as avoiding non-essential travel.
