The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) Friday announced the registration of 13 new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) in Qatar.
Some new cases are related to travellers who came to Qatar and others to contacts. The new cases have been put into quarantine and are receiving the necessary medical care.
The MoPH stressed the importance of following basic preventive measures including washing hands frequently and properly or using hand sanitisers regularly.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) announced Friday that 10 Qatari citizens were arrested for violating the home quarantine requirements.
These individuals, who had signed affidavits in connection with home quarantine, were referred to prosecution as part of the measures against the spread of novel coronavirus (Covid-19) and ensure public safety.
The authorities reminded citizens and residents in home quarantine of the necessity of strict adherence to the conditions set by the MoPH for their own safety and that of the others.
People are also strongly advised not to touch their nose, mouth and eyes when outside home, to avoid visiting the elderly and not leaving the house except when absolutely necessary.
People should also avoid shaking hands or kissing, and keep a distance of not less than three feet from others, especially from people who have symptoms.
