The Public Hygiene Department of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME), represented by the Beaches and Islands Department, carried out a comprehensive cleaning campaign at Al-Ruwais port.
Various wastes including plastic boxes, bags, wood and boxes were recovered. A boat found wrecked in the sea was also recovered.
A cleanliness drive was also held Al Wakra family beach. Containers were removed along with an abandoned cruiser, drums and discarded wood. The MME has urged the public and boat owners to keep the beach and the port clean and abstain from throwing wastes in undesignated areas.
