Following the Ministry of Education and Higher Education circular to suspend classes in public and private schools and universities for all students in Qatar, Josoor Institute has committed to making the transition to online classes for Block 2 of its Professional Diploma Programmes in Sports Management and Major Events Management starting on March 29.
Commenting on the continuation of the programmes, Afraa al-Noaimi, Executive Director of Josoor Institute, said: “We have a shared responsibility to ensure that we fulfil our education mission while protecting the health and safety of our students and our instructors. We have therefore been working with SDA Bocconi to be able to continue our Professional Diploma Programmes remotely using online instruction. Josoor Institute is working hard to ensure that learning never stops, and delegates still have an excellent learning experience to look forward to, as part of the exceptionally well-designed programmes.”
Internationally recognised as a knowledge hub in the Mena region, faculty at Josoor Institute is not new to online learning. In 2019, Josoor Institute and its faculty partnered with Hamad Bin Khalifa University to design ‘Sustainability and Major Sport Events’, an online professional certificate programme on world-class platform edX. The programme addresses the critical sustainability aspects of planning and hosting large-scale sporting events.
Josoor Institute’s year-long Professional Diploma Programmes target professionals, or those hoping to pursue careers in the sports management or event management fields. Industry leading expert trainers present a well-rounded programme that combines theory and practice and a variety of learning tools includes group work, in-class discussion, case studies, as well as the insights of high-profile international and regional guest speakers.
The flagship Professional Diploma Programmes build on Josoor Institute’s continuous efforts to equip industry professionals with specialist knowledge and skills required for every facet of world-class event production in Qatar and the wider Mena region, from the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 to sports and non-sporting events beyond.Earlier this year, Josoor Institute welcomed 91 participants as the 4th cohort of the two professional diploma programmes, delivered with its academic partner university, SDA Bocconi School of Management.
The first of the programmes’ six blocks successfully concluded in February.
