Indian embassy has urged the community members to avoid visiting its premises unless it is absolutely essential and unavoidable, according to an advisory issued through the official Twitter handle.
The restriction is as per the guidelines issued by the Qatar government to limit the spread of Covid-19.
The embassy has taken several measures in this regard and has asked the applicants to visit the embassy only with an appointment by calling at 44255747 or 44255711 or through an email to [email protected].
Only passports which have expired or are expiring before September 30, 2020 will be accepted for reissue, unless there are other compelling reasons. Similarly, passport cases with change in particulars will be entertained only if the expiry date of the passport is before September 30, 2020.
Miscellaneous services on passport will not be provided unless and until they are absolutely essential. Only the applicant –if required- will be allowed to enter the embassy premises for passport services except in case of minors.
Normal visa services are restricted only to emergency cases. Those who wish to apply for visa due to unavoidable circumstances can call embassy Covid-19 helpline 44255747 or email [email protected].
OCI registrations have been temporarily cancelled and attestation and other consular services will be provided only in very important and urgent cases. Applicant can come to the embassy only with an appointment at the above given numbers or email address.
In case of newborn babies, the child need not be taken to the embassy for the time being. Father or mother can bring the relevant documents with signatures of both for registration of birth and application for the child's passport. For death registration not more than two people will be allowed.
All the community welfare cases will be taken up through email at [email protected] or [email protected] and the helplines of the embassy to the extent possible. In case of any emergency, only those persons having grievances related to a labour case or consular matter will be allowed entry to the embassy premises.
The embassy has also appealed to Indian nationals to strictly follow the guidelines provided by the government of Qatar to avoid the spread of Covid-19 in the country.
