*Seven violation reports, two closures in Umm Salal Municipality
Umm Salal Municipality's Health Control Section has intensified its awareness and inspection campaigns at food establishments since last week to ensure the proper implementation of health and safety conditions by the workers there.
Accordingly, seven violation reports were issued along with two administrative decisions to close food outlets for seven days each for violating the food health and safety conditions, the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) said Sunday.
The inspection tours also covered slaughterhouses and yards for selling local agriculture products.
Al Rayyan Municipality's Health Control Section has also intensified its inspection campaigns at food establishments to ensure that the workers there are implementing the recommended preventive and precautionary measures in their daily practices, such as cleaning hands, sanitising surfaces and shopping carts and wearing head cover and gloves, etc, according to the MME.
Similar action is also being taken in Al Shamal Municipality on a daily basis at food establishments to ensure and stress compliance with health and preventive measures. Besides, veterinarians and health inspectors maintain constant communication with the public to receive complaints and deal with them promptly.
The MME has also stressed that it continues with its efforts to clean and disinfect garbage containers in different areas across the country, besides conducting 'mist spraying' in areas near health centres and public facilities.
