Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would go ahead despite impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
Talking to Chinese daily, the Global Times, he said the two countries are committed to the CPEC’s scheduled construction plan.
Qureshi said that while the global pandemic would cause a slight slowdown, it will not have an impact on the CPEC in the long run.
He said that all CPEC projects are being carried out in phases, and expressed confidence that the two all-weather strategic partners will march forward and eventually benefit the whole region.
