CEO of Qatar Media Corporation (QMC) HE Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad al-Thani, in co-operation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education has inaugurated two TV channels affiliated to Qatar TV, named Education 1 and Education 2.
This multi-faceted media and educational project comes within QMC's social responsibility efforts for providing educational platforms and channels for students; smooth transition to distance learning and for "Education 1" and "Educational 2" to serve as platforms that support the efforts of the Ministry of Education to finish the school year in appropriate conditions for students and parents.
The launch of the two channels confirms the QMC's adherence to its social responsibility towards the Qatari community, and to making an effective and practical contribution to the success of the educational process, in light of the exceptional circumstances witnessed by the State of Qatar and all countries of the world after the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and the disruption of schools in most of the world countries.
With this new educational-media project, QMC, particularly Qatar TV will place its human and technical expertise in the hands of students and their parents, in order to overcome the special circumstances that required the application of preventive and precautionary measures, the most prominent of which was the disruption of schooling in order to safeguard students , and the resumption of studies via multiple platforms.
Education 1 and Education 2 will support the pilot experience launched by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in 2011 for distance learning by creating the electronic learning website LMS, which provides a practical and pioneering alternative to traditional education, and is considered by all technical and educational standards an advanced platform for education, teachers and students have long trained on during the past years.
Qatar Media Corporation has made robust efforts to educate the community about the dangers of Covid-19, as it has harnessed all its capabilities for coverage and follow-up and recently provided alternative plans and external studios in anticipation of any emergency.
