A number of changes have been made to the delivery of healthcare services across Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) as a result of the evolving Covid-19 situation, in order to protect patients, visitors and the wider public.
One of these changes means that from Sunday, the Heart Hospital Emergency Department will no longer be open to public access, HMC tweeted Saturday.
The Heart Hospital will continue to provide care to patients with emergency cardiac conditions, but will not accept walk-in patients.
Any patient requiring urgent treatment can visit a Primary Health Care Corporation Urgent Care Clinic or one of HMC’s main Emergency Departments.
Heart Hospital cardiologists are present in all HMC Emergency Departments to ensure that patients with emergency heart conditions receive the "very best care right across HMC’s hospital system", the corporation stressed.
