Katara - Cultural Village Foundation has launched a slew of online competitions through its social media platforms after activities were stalled due to the novel coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

Katara general manager Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al-Sulaiti said various competitions will be conducted through the social media platforms and these are for all nationalities.

"We look to transform the mode of activities as Katara has been closed," he said adding that the competitions will be in literary and artistic cultural categories. The winner of each competition will be rewarded with cash prizes.

The competitions include short story, short play, eloquent poetry and calligraphy and Holy Qur'an recitation.

Katara has also launched a painting and drawing competition. In addition, various programmes will be launched on YouTube. Additional details are available on Katara's social media platforms.
