The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) stressed Wednesday that it remains focused on the health and safety of everyone working on FIFA World Cup 2022 projects and the wider communities in Qatar who may be affected by the current COVID-19 pandemic.
The committee said in a statement today that everyone in Qatar has a responsibility to limit the spread of the virus and the impact it may have upon individuals and businesses. The SC added that it is doing its utmost to help these efforts by working with contractors and the relevant Government authorities.
The committee stressed that Qatar's FIFA World Cup project remains on track.
"However, in the event that the current COVID-19 pandemic adversely affects our planned delivery timeline, we are confident that we will have sufficient time to deliver all tournament infrastructure and planning well ahead of the FIFA World Cup Qatar beginning on Nov. 21, 2022," the statement added.
