Fish market auctions suspended
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in co-ordination with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, has announced the suspension of auctions at the Umm Salal Fish Market from Sunday (March 15) until further notice as a precautionary measure in view of the Covid-19 outbreak.
Activities of street vendors' suspended
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has announced its decision to suspend street vendors' activities in the country.
‘The Ministry of Commerce and Industry notifies street vendors of its decision to halt sales, as well as the provision of all services, in a bid to ensure public safety in light of the current health circumstances across the country,’ the MoCI said in a notification on its Twitter page.
Any licensed vendor who violates the decision will be held accountable and subject to legal proceedings, the notification adds.
