The seventh Qatar International Boat Show (QIBS) has been postponed, the organisers have said.
QIBS 2020 was scheduled to be held, under the patronage of HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, from March 18 to 21 at Porto Arabia, The Pearl-Qatar.
The announcement was made by Khalid Essa AlMannai, chairman of AlMannai Plus Events, the organisers of the sole luxury yachts show in Qatar.
He said that in view of the current situation brought upon by the Covid-19 outbreak and "in the interest of the health and safety of representatives of our partners, sponsors, participating companies and visitors, the event has been postponed on the advice of the local authorities".
In a statement, AlMannai "regretted the inconvenience this may have caused and appreciated the support of all parties concerned and stakeholders during these times".
