Mohamed Althaf, director of LuLu Hypermarkets, has received a doctorate in Global Leadership & Management from the European International University (EIU), Paris, according to a statement. 
EIU is an ASIC and ECBC accredited university for higher education, which ranks 85th among the world’s best business schools by the CEOWORLD Magazine and has the organisational membership with the Cambridge International Academics, UK & Wales.
Althaf has a Master’s degree and LLB from the University of Delhi and accomplished further advanced studies in Intellectual Property Rights. He is an alumnus of the Said Business School, Oxford University.  
Althaf has a special interest in the areas of Circular Economy and Sustainability in the retail supply chain.  
Commenting on the achievement, Althaf said he was motivated by his fundamental desire to understand how the leadership can have positive impact on all stakeholders and the society.  
Althaf is a member of various retail and international business forums namely the World Economic Forum, World Retail Forum, Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council, Qatar British Business Forum, British Chamber of Commerce Qatar, American Chamber of Commerce, Spanish Business Council, Swiss Business Council, Qatar International Chamber of Commerce, Qatari Businessmen Association and Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry.  
He is the only Indian to be a part of Qatari Businessmen Association.
Althaf is an invitee and guest speaker at SelectUSA Investment Summit, Washington DC, World Economic Forum, World Retail Forum, The Institute of Export & International Trade, UK and various exclusive workshops and seminars organised by the US Commercial Service.
He is also the recipient of Sustainability Award and seventh CSR Award last year, in appreciation of the long-standing and continued efforts that LuLu Hypermarkets have done under his leadership towards sustainability and corporate social responsibility.
