Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) Wednesday announced that the College of Science and Engineering (CSE) is collaborating with IBM to train its students in new and emerging technologies through IBM Skills Academy program.
IBM Skills Academy is a training and certification program designed to bridge the skills gap between universities and the market industry.
The program will provide HBKU's CSE students with opportunities to develop future-ready skills in new and emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, data analytics and other advancements shaping the global business landscape.
It will also provide a hybrid approach to learning, enabling students to participate in an innovative mix of career-driven online courses and classroom-blended training activities. These are not only expected to improve employment prospects but also encourage accelerated economic growth through entrepreneurial activities.
Speaking about HBKU's collaboration with IBM, Founding Dean, CSE Dr Mounir Hamdi said: "Were naturally delighted to be working with IBM and immersing our students in this innovative approach to training and development. The overarching objectives of the IBM Skills Academy echo our determination to provide individuals with the prerequisite technological and entrepreneurial skills to thrive in tomorrows workplace. Our collaboration with one of the worlds leading tech companies also reflects HBKUs growing international profile and ability to build proactive relations across the public and private sector.
