With fresh cases of coronavirus (Covid-19) being reported, the Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) has taken a number of precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the virus.
This is within the framework of its corporate social responsibility and keenness to provide a healthy and safe environment for employees and customers, a statement by Kahramaa said.
“Directions been issued and urgent measures adopted in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19. The use of biometric devices in all locations have been suspended in order to prevent the transmission of the virus. Besides, a committee is closely monitoring the situation inside the Corporation,” the statement said.
Kahramaa has published health guidelines and tips and urged employees along with contractors and workers of various companies to follow the highest standards of health to limit the spread of Covid-19.
These are in addition to Kahramaa’s intensive campaign for its employees to raise awareness and issuing health guidelines and practices. The guidelines highlight the necessity of washing hands with soap and water or using hand sanitisers, avoiding touching the nose, eyes, and mouth with unclean hands, covering the mouth when coughing or sneezing and properly disposing of the used masks. It has asked all to avoid close contact with anyone who has symptoms of respiratory disease, not to travel to countries where the virus has spread and to consult a health centre or hospital if any of the Covid-19 symptoms appear.
Kahramaa also launched an awareness campaign through its platforms on social media for all groups of society about Covid-19 and ways to prevent it. Kahramaa is keen to follow and apply the highest health, safety and security standards in all its locations and activities and operations in accordance with its commitment to achieving the goal of ensuring a safe and healthy work environment. It is worth noting that Kahramaa has a proven track record in the field of health and safety.
