Qatar Petroleum recently honoured a new group of Qatari nationals who have successfully completed their academic studies and training programmes, and have joined the workforces of Qatar Petroleum and other companies in the energy sector.
The 214 newcomers graduated from a number of distinguished educational institutions, including two with a master degree through the ‘Total scholarship program’, 129 graduates with a bachelor’s degree, and some 83 graduates with technical certificates and diplomas.
As many as 56 graduates will join Qatar Petroleum, while 158 graduates will join Muntajat, Nakilat, North Oil Company, Dolphin, Oryx GTL, Qafac, Qafco, Qapco, Qatalum, Qatar Steel, Qatargas, Q-Chem, Shell, and Woqod. HE the Minister of State for Energy Affairs Saad bin Sherida al-Kaabi, also the President and CEO of Qatar Petroleum, congratulated the graduates on their achievements and stressed that all energy companies in Qatar are placing great efforts in supporting, training, and empowering Qatari citizens, who are at the top of their priorities.
Al-Kaabi said, “While we welcome you as you join colleagues who have preceded you, we hope that in the near future we see you taking leadership positions and playing the important role that our grandfathers and fathers have played in developing Qatar’s oil and gas industry. You have the road paved ahead of you to play a big role in the greater development of our industry and our natural resources to achieve growth and prosperity for all citizens. I congratulate you and all your families, whom I thank for their care and support. ”
Al-Kaabi handed certificates of appreciation to all graduates, along with symbolic gifts for outstanding graduates in their fields of specialisation.
The ceremony was attended by senior executives from Qatar Petroleum and from the country’s wider energy sector.
