Jordanian officials appreciated the initiative of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani to provide 10,000 job opportunities for Jordanians in Qatar.
Speaking to the Qatar News Agency (QNA), the officials emphasised the depth of relations between Amman and Doha and the high-level consultation between the two countries on regional issues.
Jordanian Minister of Labour Nidal al-Bataineh said that his country appreciates the Qatar's support to the Jordanian economy by providing 10,000 job opportunities, of which about 4,100 were already employed.
Al-Bataineh pointed out that there is continuous high-level co-ordination with the Qatari Ministry of Labour to follow up on jobs announced by the Qatari public and private sectors.
He pointed out that a Qatari visa centre will soon open in Amman to facilitate the procedures for Jordanians applying for jobs in Qatar.
Jordan's Speaker of the House of Representatives, Atef Tarawneh, said that Jordan, under the leadership of King Abdullah II, cherishes relations with Qatar and is always keen to develop them.
He added that King Abdullah and His Highness the Amir are keen to advance the relations of the two countries in various fields, especially economic and investment relations.
Tarawneh said the Amir's initiative to provide jobs for Jordanians and support the military pensions fund is a confirmation of the depth of the two countries' relations and the extent of keenness for closer co-operation.
He called for the activation of the Jordanian-Qatari joint higher committee and taking advantage of the great opportunities available to achieve their mutual interests.
The former Minister of Finance of Jordan Dr Mohammad Abu Hammour explained that the future view of the prospects for the economic relationship between Jordan and Qatar comes from an optimistic perspective of the ability of the two parties to develop the existing relationship and to find the appropriate ground for further co-operation, co-ordination, and integration in various fields.
The former head of the Jordanian Royal Court Jawad Anani said that the visit of His Highness the Amir to Amman came at a special time, as both countries face similar conditions and seek to overcome them with stable and stable positions.
Anani added that the Amir has always demonstrated wisdom and sobriety in managing crises, as demonstrated by his management of the blockade imposed on Qatar, as Qatar was able to emerge from the state of the blockade with an efficient and successful economy.
