Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) announced that farms will see a reduction in electricity and water consumption charges starting with the February 2020 bill in order to support animal production.
The percentage of reduction in the new consumption fees for farms will reach 70% for electricity and 40% for water, given that these farms will no longer be classified in the commercial category.
Kahramaa said this step comes within its framework of the national responsibility as one of the leading institutions in the country in supporting animal production and encouraging owners of farms to invest in the field of livestock, in order to enhance self-sufficiency and food security, in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment.
Kahramaa has completed a project to deliver electricity and water to farms in various regions of the country, to help enhance production capacity, in accordance with the corporation's mission to provide sustainable, high-quality electricity and water for a better life in Qatar.
