*Bilateral ties in the economic and investment fields to be further strengthened
His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani Tuesday said he held constructive talks with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune at El Mouradia presidential palace in Algiers.
In joint press remarks with the Algerian president, His Highness the Amir stressed that bilateral ties in the economic and investment fields will be further developed, adding that Qatar and Algeria agreed on many matters.
The Amir praised Algeria's regional and Arab role and its honourable history in resolving many of the existing conflicts, whether in the region or in the Arab world, stressing the need for its role in this regard and expressing his confidence in the success of the upcoming Arab summit to be hosted by Algeria.

His Highness Sheikh Tamim thanked the Algerian president for the reception and hospitality accorded to him and the accompanying delegation.
For his part, the Algerian president welcomed the Amir and his accompanying delegation, saying that his talks with the Amir affirmed the full agreement of the two countries on the issues raised during the talks, including economic and political fields, and Arab, regional and international issues.
Earlier, His Highness the Amir and the Algerian president held an official talks session at El Mouradia presidential palace.
Talks during the session dealt with bilateral relations and means of developing and strengthening them in various fields, especially in energy, economy, investment, culture and sports.
The session discussed a number of regional and international issues of common concern, including the Palestinian cause and the Libyan crisis. Members of the official delegation accompanying the Amir attended the session.
On the Algerian side, it was attended by a number of ministers and senior officials.
Upon his arrival Houari Boumediene International Airport in Algiers Tuesday morning on an official visit to Algeria, His Highness the Amir and the accompanying delegation were welcomed by president Tebboune and senior Algerian officials.
The Amir was accorded an official reception ceremony upon his arrival.

The Amir and the accompanying delegation were seen off upon departure at the Houari Boumediene Airport by the Algerian president.
Also present were Algerian ministers and senior civilian and military officials, Qatar ambassador to Algeria Hassan bin Ibrahim al-Malki, Algerian ambassador to Qatar Dr Mustafa Boutoura and members of the Qatari embassy.
Upon departure, an official farewell ceremony was held for the Amir.
The Amir sent a cable to Tebboune expressing deep thanks and appreciation for the warm hospitality and honour that the Amir and the accompanying delegation received during the visit, which provided the Amir the opportunity to meet the president, as well as exchange views on issues of common concern and means of strengthening and promoting bilateral relations in various fields. The Amir also wished the president the best of health and happiness and the brotherly people of Algeria further progress and prosperity.
The Amir returned to Doha Tuesday evening from the Algerian capital Algiers, after the conclusion of an official visit to Jordan, Tunisia and Algeria.
