The College of Business and Economics (CBE) in Qatar University (QU) organised an event in collaboration with the CBE communication’s office and the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs Office, with assistance from CBE student Salma Ahmed Mohamed.
Three CBE faculty members shared their academic and life journeys to students: assistant professor of marketing, Dalia Farrag; assistant professor of management, Anas al-Bakri; and assistant professor of accounting, Emad Awadallah.
Through sharing their experiences, the professors aimed to educate students on the life lessons they learned and encouraged them to pursue their goals and aspirations despite life’s challenges.
The event also strengthened the student-professor relationship by creating a friendly environment to escape the formality of a regular academic environment.
It also helped to guide students wishing to complete their postgraduate studies.
QU’s assistant dean for student affairs, Dr Maha al-Thani said: “The younger generation is a great source of support for society in all fields. As a result, the College of Business and Economics communication office, with the support of the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs Office, organised a number of workshops that aimed to connect students with their professors, which will consequently lead students to have a positive connection with their respective colleges. The workshops also aim to raise student morale and increase their academic efforts, and their sense of belonging in the university campus.”
