The Ministry of Culture and Sports and the Ministry of Municipality and Environment Monday signed a co-operation agreement on making use of public parks to hold various activities targeting all groups of society to spread the local culture.
Director at Culture and Arts Department of the Ministry of Culture and Sports Faisal al-Suwaidi said that the signing of the agreement comes within the framework of the ministry's keenness to co-operate with various state institutions to deliver public benefit to all sectors of society, preserve the national heritage, spread the Qatari culture and highlight its characteristics and continue to implement its strategies.
Assistant Director of Public Parks Department at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment Mohamed Ibrahim al-Sada explained that the signing of the agreement with the Ministry of Culture and Sports reflects the environment ministry's keenness to strengthen relations and support means of co-operation in all fields, including the spread of awareness to highlight and preserve the cultural heritage in implementation of the Qatar National Vision 2030.
He noted that the agreement includes allocating an area in Dahl Al Hamam Park in Doha for a heritage village where the Ministry of Culture and Sports will stage festivals, events, competitions and various activities throughout the year.
